Our Story

At MK Group, our journey began with our founder and CEO, Michael Mokobane. Born and raised in a small South African town, Michael witnessed the daily realities of inequality in infrastructure, planning, and opportunity. Determined to drive change, he pursued studies in town and regional planning, property management, and heritage conservation.

Today, MK Group is a proudly 100% black-owned multidisciplinary consultancy. We transform South Africa’s built and natural environment through innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions in town and regional planning, architecture, environmental and heritage management, property and project management, and capital advisory services.

From humble beginnings, we remain committed to empowering communities, advancing spatial justice, and creating resilient spaces that reflect our country’s rich heritage. We don’t just plan — we build legacies of opportunity and transformation.

Integrated Planning Solutions

At MK Group, we believe development goes beyond infrastructure — it’s about creating inclusive, sustainable, and socially just spaces. With expertise in planning, architecture, heritage, and environmental management, we deliver integrated solutions that promote spatial equity, empower communities, and drive lasting impact.

At MK Group, we understand that development is not just about infrastructure; it's about inclusivity, sustainability, and social impact.
